ASAMQ is an accounting students association at Macquarie University. Our objective is to provide social and professional events and workshops that add value to our student members, which will aid them in achieving their personal and professional endeavours. Through partnerships with external organisations, we connect our members with industry professionals and resources that will enhance their knowledge, wisdom and business experience.
Macquarie University’s Accounting Students' Association (ASAMQ) was founded in July of 2010 from a handful of accounting students eager to develop and create a community group - whose main focus was to provide benefit and opportunities to its student member base.
ASAMQ’s original focus was in providing workshops, seminars and connections with Macquarie University’s accounting department as well as a gateway to professional accounting bodies, institutions and organisations. These opportunities sought to aid its student members in self-development, garner knowledge and a unique skill-set to set them apart from the others and propel themselves forward in prospective career objectives.
Over the years, ASAMQ has slowly developed its professional connections and network to be able to provide hands-on MYOB and Xero workshops, interview preparation and resume workshops, as well as networking sessions and information sessions as presented by industry professionals, alumni and professional accounting institutions and organisations.
